Aberdeen Web: Building Sustainability Through Quality, Durability and Responsible Manufacturing

Q3 Sustainability Campaign

Sustainability in lifting is not just about headline environmental projects. It is also about the everyday decisions that shape safer, longer-lasting and more responsible products.

For Aberdeen Web, sustainability is closely connected to quality, durability and responsible manufacturing. In an industry where lifting equipment must perform safely and reliably, producing dependable products that are built to last is an important part of reducing waste, supporting operational efficiency and helping customers work with confidence.

As part of the wider pewag UK Group, Aberdeen Web contributes to a shared sustainability journey across pewag, Modulift, Load Monitoring Systems and Aberdeen Web – a journey recognised when the group won the LEEA Excellence in Sustainability Award at LiftEx 2025.

Sustainability Through Long-Lasting Lifting Solutions

In lifting, product quality has a direct relationship with sustainability. Equipment that is strong, reliable and suitable for demanding applications can help reduce unnecessary replacement, waste and downtime.

This aligns with the wider pewag Group’s circular economy approach, which focuses on longevity, reusability, repairability and recycling. Across the group, products are designed for long service life, with ongoing focus on durability, lifecycle extension and recyclability.

For Aberdeen Web, this wider principle supports the value of manufacturing lifting solutions that customers can depend on – helping promote safer and more resource-efficient operations.

Part of a Group-Wide Commitment to Lower Impact

Aberdeen Web’s sustainability story is also part of the wider pewag Group strategy.

The group has set a clear target to achieve CO₂-neutral production by 2030, focusing on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. This includes reducing energy-related emissions, improving energy efficiency, increasing renewable energy use and developing site-level decarbonisation measures.

In 2025, the wider pewag Group avoided 2,655 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through renewable energy, equivalent to the carbon capture capacity of approximately 79,650 newly planted trees.

The group also reported a 31% renewable energy share and generated 5,869 MWh of self-produced renewable energy in 2025.

These group-wide achievements provide an important sustainability foundation for all brands within the pewag UK Group, including Aberdeen Web.

Reducing Waste and Supporting Circular Thinking

Waste reduction and responsible resource use are key parts of the wider group’s ESG approach. In 2025, pewag austria GmbH and its subsidiaries generated 3,466 tonnes of waste, of which 83% was recycled.

The group’s circular economy focus includes using resources carefully, reducing waste, increasing reuse and recycling, and extending product lifecycles through durable product design and repair services where applicable.

For a brand such as Aberdeen Web, this reflects the direction of travel across the wider group: making sustainability part of how products are produced, used and managed over time.

People, Safety and Responsible Business

Sustainability is not only environmental. It also includes people, safety, training and ethical business.

Across the wider pewag Group, employees completed 20,342 training hours in 2025, averaging 13.9 hours per employee. The group also maintained 100% health and safety coverage for employees, recorded zero fatalities and reported zero work-related illnesses.

Strong governance is also central to the group’s ESG approach. In 2025, pewag recorded zero confirmed incidents of corruption or bribery, and the sustainability report was externally audited for the third consecutive year.

As part of the pewag UK Group, Aberdeen Web benefits from this wider culture of responsibility, accountability and continuous improvement.

Supporting a More Sustainable Lifting Industry

The lifting industry supports critical sectors across construction, offshore, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing. As customer expectations around ESG continue to grow, suppliers have an important role to play in helping the sector become safer, more efficient and more sustainable.

Aberdeen Web’s contribution lies in the fundamentals: quality, durability, responsible manufacturing and alignment with the wider sustainability ambitions of the pewag UK Group.

By focusing on products built for performance and longevity, and by being part of a group committed to measurable ESG progress, Aberdeen Web is helping support a more responsible future for lifting.
