QHSE Advisor

Multi-Site Role | 38.5 Hours per Week | Reporting to General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and proactive QHSE Advisor to lead the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems across our multi-site business.

This is a standalone role offering significant autonomy and direct engagement with senior leadership. The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert for all QHSE matters, leading internal and external audits, ensuring compliance, and driving practical improvements aligned with our operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Management Systems & Compliance

  • Lead the maintenance and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System in line with:
  • ISO 9001:2015
  • ISO 14001:2015
  • ISO 45001:2018
  • Lead all internal and external audits and report findings to senior management.
  • Monitor QHSE KPIs and support achievement of Quality Management Plan objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK statutory requirements and Codes of Practice.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable Health & Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and industry developments.

Health, Safety & Environmental

  • Promote a proactive, positive and zero-harm safety culture across both sites.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop effective control measures.
  • Develop and review safe systems of work.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and non-conformances, recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain environmental health, safety and wellbeing standards.

Operational & Reporting

  • Produce QHSE performance reports and statistical analysis for management.
  • Maintain compliance records and assist in control of equipment certification documentation.
  • Deliver in-house QHSE training to managers and employees.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance to operational teams to ensure safe, cost-effective and environmentally responsible practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a QHSE role within a regulated environment.
  • Qualified auditor essential (internal and/or lead auditor ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) essential.
  • Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident working independently and managing priorities across multiple sites.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

A relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or Quality Management is desirable but not essential where experience is demonstrated.
